Jerry Shinn, 75, of Yorktown, Indiana passed comfortably at home surrounded by family on Saturday October 17th, 2015. Jerry was born March 17, 1940, in Montpelier, Indiana. He was the son of the late Oscar and Margaret Shinn.
Jerry was an active member of the Gathering Church of God. He served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1960 and he was stationed in Pakistan. Jerry was Past President of Family Services and Union Representative of Borg Warner Local 287 UAW. He enjoyed being Santa for Toys for Tots and a member of Clowns on the Ball, clown name “O Be Cool”.
Jerry is survived by his wife MaryAnne, of 36 years; his sister, Sandra Shinn; brother, Larry Shinn (Pam); children, Jason Shinn (Melissa), Jay Shinn (Sherry), Gary Richman (Crystal), Donita Moore (Dicky), and Randy Richman (Bonita).
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, Kloe and Macy Shinn; Jeremy and Ashley Prior; Maddy and Olivia Raziano; Tanner (Melissa), Tyler, Kylie, Brittney, Josh, and Meranda Richman; Chelsea Wentworth (Andrew), Lindsay and Austin Moore; and Michael and Jonathan Rodimon; great-grandchildren, Luke and Landon Wentworth; Caiden and Logan Richman; brothers-in-law, Randy and Gene White; nieces, Stephanie and Tara Shinn; Kendra Richman-Scott (Jeremiah).
Special thanks to all for your help, kindness, loving care, and support. Thank you to everyone’s love and commitment to the family.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at The Gathering, 9512 N. Walnut St., Muncie. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial with military rites will follow at Hawk Cemetery, Yorktown. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.
